One of leading airlines in Asia, China Southern Airlines has launched its operations in Pakistan. The first direct flight landed to Urumqi from Lahore on June 21st.
China Southern Airlines’ Acting Consul General of China in Lahore, Wang Daxue was optimistic that this will open new doors & opportunities for both Pakistan & China. He felt that in the light of CPEC development projects & economic growth is being encouraged. He also termed the start of flights on the route as “New Silk Route” aiming to bridge the gaps & allow further cultural exchange between the neighboring countries.
Lahore Deputy Commissioner Sumair Ahmad Syed said that Pakistan highly values the initiation of CSA’s flight operations and he also hopes that it will bring new opportunities for the Pakistani businessmen.

CSA’s Deputy General Manager Feng Yuenjun said, “We aim to make this route a witness of friendship and cooperation between China and Pakistan.”
China Southern Airlines has operations in 40 countries, 224 destinations and more than 2000 regular daily flights. CSA is privileged to be the only airline in the world to operate both Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 aircraft at the same time. With 660 planes it is one of the biggest airlines in the world. It has largest fleet in Asia and third largest worldwide.
Earlier the vice sales manager of the China Southern Airlines, Xu Jianmin said “The airlines will operate 11 new domestic routes in the region.”
Urumqi has great economic value by being the west gateway of China to the rest of the world. So a flight from Lahore to Urumqi will be beneficial for the businesses and travelers.
