China & Pakistan Agree To Upgrade Railway Link Construction- CPEC

One of the projects of CPEC is connecting Peshawar to Karachi through a railway link. This railway link would connect southern and northern Pakistan and it would be 1600 km long. Now recently China and Pakistan has come to a consensus to update the railway link. The neighboring countries have agreed upon increasing the speed of this railway project and modernize the railway track, signal system and railway station.

Zafaruddin Mahmood who is Pakistan’s special representative on CPEC Project has confirmed this news. It has also been formally agreed upon that Havelian land port on Karakoram Highway would be constructed. It would link Pakistan with Kashgar that is in China’s Xinjiang Uygur independent region. Mr Mahmood further said that once the railway link is modernized, merchandise can be loaded on trains from China to the Havelian land port.

Generally, the representative on CPEC talked about how China and Pakistan are exploring options to improve Islamabad’s abilities in land surveying. They are also working on a plan to launch a satellite from Islamabad. Moreover, China would aid Pakistan in the establishment of Gawadar airport. The electricity issue stagnant in the country would also be paid attention to. China would help Pakistan in raising its electricity supply by around 80 percent in the next five years.
