China deployed martial arts fighters at Indian border before the deadly clash: Report

According to the state media, the Chinese government reinforced its troops near the Indian border with mountain climbers and martial arts fighters shortly before a clash with the neighboring country this month.

It is to be mention here that the tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors are common at the mountainous border, but clash earlier this month was their deadliest encounter in over 50 years.

According to the official military newspaper China National Defence News, five new militia divisions including former members of a Mount Everest Olympic torch relay team and fighters from a mixed martial arts club presented themselves for inspection at Lhasa on June 15.

The CCTV footage shared by the state broadcaster showed that hundreds of new troops lining up in the Tibetan capital.

The state media reported that Tibet commander Wang Haijiang said that the Enbo Fight Club recuirts would greatly raise the organization and mobilization strength of the troops and rapid response and support ability.

On the other hand, Wang did not confirm that the deployment of mountain climbers and martial arts fighters was linked to ongoing border tensions.
