China begins Direct Import of Pakistani Mangoes

China has started the direct import of Pakistani Mangoes. A flight carrying 1030 kilograms of Pakistani mangoes departed from Lahore and reached its destination at Urumqi International Airport. This marks the first direct import of Pakistani fruit ‘mango’ in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China.

This direct import of ‘King of Fruits’ from Pakistan to China will reduce the retail price by 20 percent to 30 percent with more loss rate during transportation.

Currently, most of the imported fruits that are sold in the Urumqi market are imported from mainland ports, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou. Then these fruits are sold in Urumqi. The quality of fruits and a large number of transit channels, as well as long transportation time negatively, effects the fruit quality and the price.

Thus, the fruits that are imported directly from the local ports will not just reduce the transportation cost but also decrease the transportation time and fruit cost which includes storage, labor, and cold chain transportation.

It is pertinent to mention here that to increase fruits imports, Urumqi International Airport Customs has been in contact with international high-quality fruit merchants resources to boost qualified enterprises to trust on the entry control environment of the entry fruits.
