After facing a great impact of the coronavirus pandemic Pakistan and Afghanistan have resumed their trade activities and China welcomes the resumption of these cross border trade activities.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hua Chunying at a media briefing in Beijing said that China would love to see good relations between both the countries and also the economic growth of Kabul and Islamabad. She further added that China would like to play a positive role in this regard.
China also feels great to see other CPEC projects and the Gwadar port playing an active and profitable role in this regard. According to the spokesperson, her country China is interested in working with both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Earlier, Pakistan opened up five key routes with Afghanistan for transit and bilateral trade in order to help the country in boosting its trade.
The trade has been affected in both countries a lot due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the trade has been resumed and the border crossing is open for twenty-hours and six days a week.
Experts say, that the decision made by Pakistan to open routes for the Afghanistan trade is a positive step for both Pakistan and China’s economy.
