According to the several media reports, the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi has reportedly resigned from the post on Tuesday. According to the details, Mr Zaidi had decided to resign from the office due to the serious illness.
Zaidi informed the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan about the decision to resign from the post of chairmanship.
It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan, a day earlier, hinted about the resignation of the chairman FBR due to his illness because he realized that the all the operations were stood still due to his absence from the office.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, however, directed the authorities to find a suitable candidate for the post of the Chairman of the FBR.
While addressing a ceremony, PM Khan said on Monday that we will bring another man in place of Shabbar Zaidi. He was very ill and he took the charge of the office for six months on my personal request, Khan added.
On the other hand, the chairman FBR denied the reports of resignation while saying that he didn’t resign from the post yet but is not able to perform duties due to the health issues.
While talking to a private TV channel, he denied the reports of his resignation.
