Syed Shabbar Ali Zaidi—the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced that the sugar industry of the country would be audited by the tax body.
The chairman FBR, through a tweet, said that a panel would initiate a process of audit and the exercise was being put into practice to ensure the transparency in the reporting mechanism.
In his tweet on Thursday (today), the chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) said, “FBR has decided to initiate a panel audit of the Sugar industry in order to improve Tax Compliance and Ensure Transparency in reporting mechanism. FBR believes in improving compliance through education, facilitation, transparent and fair application of Law.”
A day earlier, the chairman of the tax department of the country said that the PTI-led federal government had decided to take the officers of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on board in the process of the reforms that are to be started in the institute itself to align with the modern practices.
