Cellular Services to Remain Suspended in Sindh on 9th and 10th Muharram

The cellular services in the province of Sindh are to remain suspended on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

From midnight, the residents of the province would experience the suspension of the cellular networks as the service providers have been directed to suspend their towers for security concerns on the mentioned dates.

It has been shared by the industry sources that the cellular services suspension would not be a blanket one, for example, the Central and South districts in the city of Karachi would witness complete cellular network shutdown from 12 a.m. tonight to Sunday midnight, however, the network suspension timings for the district West announced were 10 a.m on the 28th of August until 8 p.m. 30th of August.

There would be a partial suspension of the cellular services along the routes of the Muharram processions between 7 a.m and 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Areas of District East would face suspension of services until 4 p.m. on 29th August. These areas include MA Jinnah Road till Capri Cinema, Nishtar Park, Father Jammes Road, Preedy Street up to the Saddar Parking Plaza and Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road.

Apart from this many cities of the province would experience the cellular network suspension at different timings with some experiencing this limitation only on the 10th of Muharram while others witnessing it on all three days.

On the other hand, the government of Punjab has also announced to suspend the mobile network services in seven cities of the province owing to security reasons.
