YouTube has revealed the launch of eleven free new original shows featuring celebrity special appearances as part of its initiatives to produce content that will benefit people locked up at home because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The shows have a special dance, one on education and one on projects where families and friends can work together. Each such show will have a guest of celebrities. “Some shows will help you learn, some will make you laugh,” says Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube, in a tweet adding there is something for everyone on this list.
The news programs, both of which would be shot from certain celebrities’ homes, will air with advertisements for free. Of course, with the YouTube Premium subscription which costs Rs.129 a month, there’s the option to get rid of the advertisements. Here’s a look at some of the latest originals.
Celebrity Replacement starts on May 7 and a celebrity will follow a teacher who would then teach high school lessons. Singer Janelle Monae, model Karlie Kloss and actor Terry Crews are among some of the celebs.
The mini-series Create Together With Me will see entrepreneur and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt hosting friends and families interacting with each of the episodes documenting the creative process on projects that involve creating music videos, short films and more.
