The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has given approval to 6 projects worth Rs.10.3 billion and the suggested two others worth Rs.30.86 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for consideration.
The CDWP meeting presided over by Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, had a discussion on the projects regarding energy, physical planning and housing, transport and communication, physical planning and housing and education sectors.
Two projects linked to the energy division were given approval in the meeting. These included 220kV Haripur Substation costing Rs.3,626.54 million and the Evacuation of Power from the 330MW Siddiq Sons Energy Coal-Fired Power Plant at Thar costing Rs.2,354.32 million.

Likewise, two projects linked to the physical planning and the housing sector also received approval in the meeting. These included the making of the 15 Nos Superintendent of Police Residence Sector H-11, Islamabad worth Rs.151.971 million and the construction of 4 Nos Police Station in the different divisions in the capital city, costing Rs.150.836 million.
A project linked to the sector of education captioned as the “Construction of Boundary Walls in Government School of KP via Tameer-e-School Programme” costing Rs.203.675 million was approved by CDWP.
CDWP also approved the up-gradation of the atomic energy cancer hospital and the up-gradation of the diagnostic and therapeutic facilities at BINO Bahawalpur, costing Rs.4 billion.
