Earlier today, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) announced that it is planning to open up a drive-in cinema in the capital city of Pakistan next month during the times of the novel COVID-19 pandemic.
As per the reports, Hamza Shafqat Deputy Commissioner Islamabad gave a hint regarding the opening of a drive-in cinema by saying that the authorities have planned to launch a drive-in cinema next month in the federal capital. He also said that the administration has already started working on the idea.
One of the Twitter users, Faizan Khan initiated the idea. He was continuously tagging the Deputy Commissioner in the Twitter post every weekend until the second wave of coronavirus struck Pakistan.
Also, there are many residents of Islamabad who regularly reach out to DC through social media and they get speedy responses to their ideas and complaints.
According to DC Islamabad Hamza Shafqat, car cinema has the advantage that people can watch a movie by sitting inside their car in their own comfort zone and privacy.
Moreover, he added that this way social distancing can never be violated as cars are often parked at a six feet distance or even more than that.
Hamza Shafqat while replying to a query stated that the city managers were planning on setting up a drive-in cinema at Shakarparian Parade Ground or at F-9 Park.
Now the people will be able to watch movies while sitting in their own cars and the radios in the cars will automatically function as speakers for the movie.
