Careem, the leading ride-hailing company in Pakistan has started delivery service in major cities of Pakistan as a pilot project. The Careem delivery service is launched in  Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar in August. The aim of the new service by Careem is to provide a platform to the people through which they can send and receive small goods & products like documents, keys, laundry etc. Presently the service is available to 5% of the Careem customers but soon by the end of 2018, Careem delivery service will be launched nationwide.

Careem eyes to expand its technological ecosystem by offering solutions to day to day problems of the customers. Using the digital tools to meet the expectations of its people. Now Careem customers can select the ‘Delivery’ car type from the Careem app. They can add the pick-up location of the specific item and relax back as their item gets delivered to the desired destination. Item related information can be added in the details section. Once the item is delivered, the price of the item and ride fare has to be paid

Trained captains are being hired by Careem specifically for Careem delivery service.

Nashit Nawiwala, Operations Manager, Careem Bikes, and Deliveries said, “Careem delivery service is for anything from forgotten keys to important documents to lunch from your favorite restaurant. We have kept it simple and competitively priced so people can use the Careem App they already have on their phones and know that the same level of service and training will be brought on the table. We want our customers to have a one-stop solution for all their mobility needs, parcels or otherwise.”

The initiative by Careem highlights how tech companies in Pakistan are not hesitant in starting in new ventures. This will only lead to further development & progress in the country.
