A Careem captain has been shot dead in Karachi, in the area of Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
The incident occurred on Saturday near a school on Phase-I, Street-8 in DHA. The driver named Saleem Thaheem, who was of 40 years in age was found dead inside his car near Dhuktaran-i-Awam school.
As per the Clifton Superintendent Police (SP)—Suhai Aziz, the family informed that Saleem left his home in Azam Basti on Saturday morning.
As per the reports of DHA authorities, the incident occurred at 06:45 am. They said that the body was found at the aforementioned location. The police informed that Saleem was shot twice.

The authority also eradicated the possibility of a robbery as the wallet of the driver which had Rs5,000 and his 2 mobile phones were with him.
The SP said that the mother and wife of the victim are in shock and are not sure that what could possibly be the reason behind this killing.
As per an official, the victim had his origin from Sanghar district. The police are looking into the matter. A CCTV footage of the crime scene had also been attained however it is unclear. The footage shows the assailants shot Saleem from behind when he was inside the car.
It is important to mention that in the past several such kinds of incidents have been reported. Some months back, Careem drivers were being targeted by unidentified armed men.
