Camel-Based Baby Formula to Hit Dubai Markets

A United Arab Emirates-based firm has revealed a baby milk formula. The company claims it to be the world’s first camel-based baby formula. It is an instant powder mix targeted significantly for infants who are allergic to cow’s milk.

On Monday the product was launched at Gulffood 2018—an International food and beverage trade event which is held in Dubai from 18th February to the 22nd of February. The product was revealed by the Emirates Industry for Camel Milk & Products, or “Camelicious”.

The milk as per the company briefings is aimed at the children belonging to the age group of one to three and basically is for the infants who are allergic to cow’s milk.

Camel milk has been for centuries an essential energy resource for the Bedouins throughout the Gulf. They include the vitamin-rick milk in their everyday diets even to this day.

Camel milk is famous for possessing many more advantages than the ordinary cow milk. It is usually given to children suffering from malnutrition because it is rich in nutrients. The most known advantages of the camel milk include—it improves the immune system, reduces allergic reactions, stimulates the circulation, improves the heart health, treats autism, helps in growth and development and many more.

Both the camel milk and meat has gained immense popularity as an eatery across the Gulf in present times, with camel carpaccio, camel chocolates, camel burgers and now this newly unveiled camel baby formula have made their way into the kitchens and restaurants.

The company claims about its latest product as being “the world’s first instant baby milk processed from the camel milk”.

Saeed Juma Bin Subaih—General Manager Camelicious said that camel milk is an integral part of the Islamic and Arabic culture generally and the United Arab Emirates culture and heritage specifically.

He added that this milk complements the United Arab Emirates values and traditions that are passed on from generation to generation.
