The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has taken the decision to put a tax on all the airlines of the country as per the overall load the flight carries, as per the reports of local media.
All the country airlines, which includes Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) would be taxed as per the number of passengers and cargo each of their flights carry.
A record of all the passengers from the arrival time to departure time has been sought by the regulatory authority.
CAA has also issued an official notification as per which it has instructed all the airports in the country to provide a list of every passenger travelling by air along with the details of their times of arrival and departure on a per day basis to the aviation authority.
The notification further reads that all airlines are asked to provide the passenger details of the local and international flights, the total number of passenger’s onboard flights and the total weight of the cargo they carry must also be submitted after every 24 hours.
In case of non-compliance with the directives issued by the aviation regulator the airlines would have to deal with lawful consequences, each flight would be taxed as per the overall load it carries, the notification further mentioned.
All the country airlines without any exception or whatsoever have been told to comply with the orders.
