Budget Of Azad Jammu & Kashmir 2017-18

Budget of Azad Jammu & Kashmir 2017-18 was presented in the assembly. The total budget presented for AJK is Rs85 billion.

Rs21 billion of the budget is set for development purposes. This is 10 billion more than last fiscal year. 24.75% of total budget is set aside for development purposes compared to 16% in last year.

The ruling government in AJK and Pakistan, PMLN has said that the budget of this year is more people driven and for the poor class of Pakistan.  

Government workers and retired senior citizens can expect a raise of 10% in their salaries.

For non-development projects Rs61.5 billion of the budget is allocated.

The budget session was boycotted by PPP and other three opposition parties in AJK Legislative Assembly.

Opposition leader Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen said that democracy means to work together for betterment of people. He said that the government wants to dominate and make policies by themselves which have compelled them to boycott the assembly. The government wants to dictate not taking in to consideration opinions of all other parties
