On Saturday, the BRT service of Peshawar resumed once again after a deep examination and installation of new parts, load and road testing.
Muhammad Umair Khan one of the spokespeople of Trans Peshawar stated that the bus service will become operational from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Moreover, he said that the vehicles will also travel on the same express route.
According to the details, a new route has been created from the Khyber Market to Hayatabad’s Mall. Umair Khan also said that the three direct routes from Hayatabad Mall will also be operational from the 25th of October.
Moreover, Umair Khan said that masks have been made compulsory for each and every traveler. Also, special seats have been assigned for the senior citizens, women, and people with disabilities.
Apart from the aforementioned people, nobody will be allowed to use those special seats. Furthermore, male passengers are warned not to overcrowd the buses unnecessarily.
The BRT service was suspended last month temporarily as a fire was reported on a bus for the fourth time. Therefore, the manufacturers examined the vehicles properly once again.
According to an investigation report, the company declared that fire erupted due to the overloading of the buses. The reports were sent to the KPK government and then the technical issues in the buses were fixed.
Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the BRT bus service and regarded it as one of the leading projects of the PTI government. In total, the track is 27 km long and around 128 buses were decided to run on it.
The cost of the trip lies in between Rs.10 to Rs.50. it varies on where a passenger wants to travel.
