Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Peshawar project will be completed by the end of March 2020, as per the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai.
The provincial information minister has ruled out the propaganda of surge in the cost of the BRT Peshawar. He said that the total cost of the Bus Rapid Transit Peshawar project is Rs.34 billion.
He has challenged the critics to expose corruption in the BRT project. As per Shaukat Yousafzai, the civil work of the Bus Rapid Transit Peshawar project has been completed and the project will be completed by March 2020.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had directed back on May 12th, 2019 to work day and night and complete the Peshawar BRT project.
Also, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to take more time from Peshawar High Court (PHC) to complete the investigation into Bus Rapid Transit Peshawar.
A statement of different officials of the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) was recorded in the so-far investigation. FIA recorded statements of the local bodies and others. But some of the departments refrain from offering technical support in the investigation.
In an earlier article, we informed our readers that at least 20 new buses of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system reached Peshawar. As per a statement issued in Peshawar, Shahram Khan Tarakai, the Provincial Minister for local government said that a segregated portion for men and women have been managed in these state-of-the-art buses.
