Pakistan’s broadband users have exceeded 62 million bar in the month of September 2018. The increase in the count of user base is majorly because of the rise in the number of 3G/4G mobile internet subscribers which clocked in 59.485 million, as per the reports of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Thursday.
The PTA reported that the number of DSL subscribers was at nearly 1.556 million, WiMAX 67,261 users, HFC 60,006 users, EvDO 365,330 users, FTTH 73,858 users, while the users of 3G/4G LTE (fixed) were counted to be 24,311.
The number of mobile phone users witnessed an increase of nearly a million, as subscribers base made 152 million by the month of September 2018 in comparison to 151.089 million by the end of August.

The PTA further revealed that the total 3G users’ count of Jazz was at 14.85 million by September 2018, whereas the telecom’s 4G user count jumped to 5.6 million in September from the previous 5.077 million.
The PTA indicated that the Zong 3G subscribers reduced to 8.886 million by September 2018, a decrease from 9.034 million in August 2018, while the count of 4G users increased to 8.52 million in September from 8.131 million in the month of August.
Analysts claim that the portable mobile broadband devices are one of the major forces of growth in the 3G/4G subscription and this trend is likely to get bigger in the coming days.
In the meantime, the introduction of smartphone and wireless technologies in the nation during the last few years have increased the options for innovative services and applications that are being used to provide benefits for the various kinds of users.
The mobile broadband like 3G and 4G are growing in mid of the mobile broadband expansion.
