Irrfan Khan, the Indian actor, who was admitted to the hospital after his health started to deteriorate, passed away on Wednesday, as per the reports of Indian media. He was of 53 years.
He was a cancer patient and lost his life in the battle against the disease, as was confirmed by the spokesman for the actor in a brief statement.
The actor has got two sons Babil and Ayan.
Irrfan Khan was among the first Bollywood actors to make a consistent impression on the Western cinema, after earlier pioneers like Roshan Seth and Om Puri.
He was diagnosed with a neroendocrine tumor in 2018 and had been under treatmnet in Britain.
He came back to India after he recovered and completed his film Angrezi Medium.
Earlier this week, the mother of the actor Saeeda Begum died of a long-fought illness in Jaipur at the age of 95.
The funeral of Saeeda Begum was held in Jaipur and owing to the coronavirus lockdown limitations, only a few family members were permitted to attend the funeral. Irrfan Khan was unable to attend it. He paid his last respects to his mother via video conference.
