A German automobile and motorcycle manufacturer, BMW announced to recall more than one million diesel cars.
The company said in a statement on Tuesday that the decision to call the cars back was taken after a problem with the exhaust system came on the surface.
The company further added that in diesel cars, the problem can cause a fire in extreme cases.
BMW said that in some of the diesel cars, the cooling fluid can leak from a defected component called the exhaust gas recirculation cooler, which can be mixed up with some other substances in the system to create the fire risk.
“After the recalling process, the exhaust recirculation system will be inspected and if there is a fault, the parts of the car will be exchanged”, the company said.
After the announcement in August to recall 480,000 cars, the manufacturing company is now calling a total of 1.6 million diesel cars back worldwide.
