According to the media reports, a blast at Quetta’s Hazarganji sabzi mandi on Friday has killed as many as 16 people and several others left injured.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Quetta Abdul Razaq Cheema has confirmed that at least 16 people were killed in the incident; in which eight of the victims belonged to the Hazara community.
After the blast, the rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the bodies and injured people to the Bolan Medical Center. The security forces have cordoned off the spot of the blast.
As per the details by the police, the buildings located near the blast spot were also damaged, however the nature of the blast that killed 16 people couldn’t be determined.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has condemned the blast and has asked the local concerned authorities to provide medical facilities to the injured people. PM Khan has also asked for an inquiry report of the incident.
