Imran Ismail—the Governor of Sindh has announced on Thursday that President Arif Alvi would be inaugurating the upcoming Biryani Festival, which would be held soon in th Governor House.
While addressing the launch ceremony, which was held by the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan in the city said that such festivals would be organized every year and the upcoming festival would be given the status of an International festival.
He added that the government would support the Rice Export Association of Pakistan (REAP) with every possible way it could.
Presently, the rice exports are at $2billion, while the REAP has set the target of $4billion.

He gave assurance to the rice exporters that the PTI-led federal government would provide support at all the steps that was targeted to boost the economy of the country. The governor also said that they want to see economic activities developing in Pakistan.
Mr. Ismail said that measures taken by the government would soon bring visible results and added that the doors of the Governor house would always remain open for the exporters.
Previously in the month of July 2018, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has declared that the exporters of Pakistani rice are exceeded by $2billion mark for the fiscal year ended 2017-18.
The Pakistani rice is among the best rice in the world. Earlier in the financial year 2016, the rice exports of Pakistan superseded the $2billion mark and the pattern has always indicated continuous improvement. But Pakistan is achieving its export target of 4 million tons.
