Fawad Chaudhry—the Minister for Science and Technology on Thursday made the announcement that a state-of-the-art biotechnology park would be set up in Pakistan in collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as per the reports of local media.
Hamad Obaid Ibrahimi Al-Zaabi—the UAE ambassador called Fawad Chaudhry in the federal capital. The minister stressed upon the need for boosting the cooperation and partnership between Abu Dhabi and Islamabad.
He added that the government wishes to form a research center furnished with the latest standards in the country.
The UAE ambassador assured of full support and cooperation from his country.
Earlier on Thursday, the minister for science and technology had said that Pakistan would be sending its first citizen into space by 2022 after a selection process.
The minister tweeted and announced regarding the selection process of finding the best or perfect astronaut would start from the next year. He wrote that he is proud to announce about the selection process for the first Pakistani to be sent to Space which would start from February 2020.
Fifty people would be shortlisted in the selection process and the list would then further be reduced to 25 persons as per the information provided by the minister.
