Beware: Emirates is not offering free tickets

Emirates, Dubai’s leading airline said that now it will take legal action against those spreading fake rumors about the airline. A hoax website claimed that Emirates is offering free tickets to everyone, thus Emirates responded to it.

The website said, “We are giving away two free tickets to everyone to celebrate our 33rd anniversary.”

There was a question asked after this statement, “Do you think Emirates is the best?” Furthermore, the website claimed that 196 tickets are left.

Emirates respond to this fake new spread by the hoax website was to advise people not to believe such news and avoid visiting such websites.

Emirates spokesperson said, “Emirates has become aware of fraudulent websites purporting to offer free airline tickets to those who take an online survey. We advise anyone not to click on any links or share these links on social media. Emirates is investigating the source of the scam and will take appropriate legal action against the perpetrators.”

Such hoaxes and fake news have gone viral in the past as well. Almost a year ago, there was a scam going on, in WhatsApp claiming that two free Emirates tickets will be given to those who fill out a “fast survey”. The users were asked to fill the survey. Questions that were asked included, “Have you ever traveled with Emirates” and “How often do you fly?” Once the survey was completed the participants were informed that they have won two free tickets, but to get the tickets they must share this survey with at least ten more WhatsApp users.

It is important that we check the authenticity of such claims and surveys before blindly believing them. If Emirates gives away such extravagant offers, it will be officially announced or written on their official website. Let’s not spread or become part of fake news as it is unfair to the general public.
