PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is an online multiplayer battle royale game. It was initially available on Microsoft and later came on Xbox One. Tencent Games localized and release the game on Android and iOS versions. It is reported that by June 2018, the game had sold over fifty million units across all platforms.

Battlegrounds is a player-versus-player action game making it perfect to test your gaming skills in a multiplayer environment. The gameplay offers up to one hundred players the chance to fight in a battle royale-which is a large-scale last man standing death match-players fight to remain the last alive.

Fortnite Battle Royale has been the talk of the gaming world all through the summer. The early access title was released for Microsoft Windows, macOS, PS4, and Xbox One in September 2017 with the iOS version being released to the audience in April 2018, a Nintendo Switch version in June 2018, and an Android version in August 2018.

Fortnite Battle Royale allows up to 100 players who try to be the last man standing or the last team to survive by killing other players while staying within the limits of a shrinking safe zone to prevent undertaking lethal damage. The players initially start with no advantage and must search for weapons in order to gain the upper hand on their opponents.

Overwatch is developed by Blizzard Entertainment. It is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game that was initially got released on 24th May 2016 for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows. It is described as a hero shooter with the game assigning players into two teams of six players, with each player selecting from a roster of over 20 characters which are called “heroes”.  You get cosmetic rewards such as character skins and victory poses but that has no impact on gameplay. The principal squad-style combat with two opposing teams of six players is the core value of the game.

Blizzard reported that the game earned US $1 billion in revenue during the first year of its release. It also has the recognition of being an eSport.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has the original concept and maps but somehow it never fails to draw in new players. It is the fourth title in the Counter-Strike series and is available to play on Microsoft Windows, OS X, Xbox 360, and PS3 in August 2012 with a Linux version released in 2014. This belongs to the multiplayer games of 2018 category where the gameplay is the same.

Global Offensive has matchmaking support that allows players on dedicated Valve servers along with members of the community to host their own servers with custom maps and game modes.  It has eight main game modes: Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, Arms Race, Demolition, Wingman, Flying Scotsman, and Weapons Course.

Matchmaking is supported for all online game modes and is managed through the Steam software, and it runs Valve Anti-Cheat to prevent cheating. The PC version of Global Offensive supports private dedicated servers which can be hosted online through 3d-party hosting companies, that players may 
connect to through the community server menu in-game.
