Bannu Students to Plant Trees if they want their Degree

A condition has been placed by the University of Science and Technology (UST) in Bannu for awarding degrees to the students. The condition placed is that students would have to plant trees to get their degrees. The instructions by the university clearly states that unless the students plant one tree, they will not be given degree.

The director academics has been asked to add an additional column about tree plantation in the degree clearance form. The university administrations have issued directives to the director academics regarding this.

In a notification, the director academics has given an emphasis on the idea of a ‘Green Pakistan’. He encouraged the students to actively participate in this tree planation scheme.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan launched the ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ campaign countrywide back in October 2018. He urged the people to take part in it and make Pakistan greener.

The Prime Minister said, “This campaign is for our future. Everyone has to partake in it. Pakistan is a gift but unfortunately we haven’t paid attention to its beautification.”

Also the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi has appealed to the nation to fully cooperate in this mission. He invited all the leaders of political parties and provincial chief ministers to play their part in the Clean and Green Pakistan’ drive.
