The assigned bank branches would start receiving the Hajj application 2018 from today that is Monday.
Imran Siddiqui—the Spokesperson of the Religious Affairs and the Interfaith Harmony informed during an interview at Pakistan’s Radio Channel.
He told that the Hajj applications would be collected until the 24th of January for this year’s Hajj by all the intending pilgrims. Thirteen different bank branches have been designated throughout Pakistan, including Azad Kashmir for submitting the applications.
The spokesperson further said that the balloting for the lucky applicants would be conducted on the 26th of this month that is 26th January.
He said that the successful applicants would either be sent SMS or a general mail for informing them about their selection, while the balloting results would be made available on the websites (www.mora.gov.pk) or (www.hajjinfo.org).
Imran Siddiqui said that this year a total of one hundred seventy-nine thousand two hundred and ten pilgrims would be travelling from Pakistan to Saudi Arab for performing Hajj. This includes the one hundred and twenty thousand pilgrims that would be travelling under the government scheme while the remaining fifty-nine thousand two hundred and ten people would be performing the Hajj under the private scheme.
Answering a question, he said that the Hajj package for the South region this year would be two hundred and seventy thousand rupees while for the north region it would be two hundred and eighty thousand rupees.
He further informed that this year a quota of ten thousand has been reserved for the applicants who had been applying for Hajj since past three years but have not been successful.
He told that another ten thousand is allotted for the people who are above eighty years of age and beyond. He said that the pilgrims selected in this category needs to take with them somebody young either a relative or attendant.
The ministry has provided an inquiry number for the intending pilgrims to contact on it for the Hajj related queries. The provided inquiry number is 051-9205696.
The lucky pilgrims would be selected on the basis of groups. A group should consist of a maximum of fourteen individuals. Close friends or relatives or family members could form their own groups for avoiding any issues. However, in case a single application is submitted then that single application of an individual would be taken as a group, as informed by the spokesperson.
The Hajj application would be received by the following banks:

- Allied Bank Limited (ABL)
- United Bank Limited (UBL)
- Agriculture Development Bank Limited
- National Bank of Pakistan (NBP)
- Bank of Punjab
- Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB)
- Bank Alfalah
- Meezen Bank
- Dubai Islamic Bank Limited
- Askari Bank Limited
- Faysal Bank
- Habib Metropolitan Bank
The applicants must write their phone numbers and complete addresses so that the ministry could inform him/her via SMS, Phone call or letter.
- A Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) issued by NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority).
- Machine Readable Passports and their validity should be up to 1st March 2019.
- Applicants above eighty must specify the name of their assistant in their group and should avoid increasing the number from two.
The spokesperson also said that the person who has already performed Hajj via he government scheme is non-eligible to apply for Hajj unless that person is a Mahram and accompanying a woman for Hajj.
Two thousand and four hundred seats have been reserved for the hardship cases, from which five hundred would be given to the low-income workers whose organizations are registered with workers welfare board.
