Banks to Remain Closed on Monday

Due to Bank holiday on Monday April 27th, all the commercial banks as well as the State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed for public dealing.

State Bank of Pakistan has issued a notification that the banks will have “Bank Holiday”. The reason for this holiday is that Zakat will be deducted on the first working day of Ramadan.

Thus commercial banks, microfinance banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) all will remain close for public dealing on 27th April 2020.

On the bank holiday all the banks/ DFIs / MFBs employees will works on their official assignments whether its in-office or work-from-home, as designated under the current COVID-19 situation. It will be treated as normal working day, however there will be no public dealing.

The working hours for banks which includes prayers banks and hours of public dealing has been notified by SBP.

Banks will remain operational from 10 am to 4 pm with a break of 2 pm to 2.15 pm every day from Monday to Thursday. During Ramadan, the public dealing hours will be from 10 am to 1.30 pm without any break. The banks will remain open on Friday from 10 am to 1 pm. Public dealing will continue during the whole working hours.
