More than 116,683 Hajj applications have been received at the banks under the government scheme throughout the nation, as informed by a spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on Saturday.
The spokesperson further briefed that the designated banks would continue to receive the Hajj applications until the 6th of March. He also said that balloting would be conducted on the 8th of March to choose more than 107,526 successful pilgrims.
Additionally, the designated banks would be receiving the Hajj applications on Saturday and Sunday although these are off days in order to facilitate the intending pilgrims.

The spokesperson revealed that as many as 200,000 lucky persons would get the honor of performing Hajj this year out of which 60percent would perform under the government scheme while 40percent would perform under the private scheme.
The requirements for the applicants have also been provided on the website of the ministry.
He added that the applicants were being told about receipt of applications via SMS on their mobile phones.
The spokesperson asked the applicants to check their particulars on the website and rectify the mistakes if any.
