State Bank of Pakistan has issued newly revised timings for the month of Ramadan.

On all working days, the timings will be

  • 08:00 a.m. to 02:15 p.m without a break

For Friday the timing will be

  • 08:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. without a break

This is applicable for SBP, Development Finance Institutions and MicroFinance Institutions.

The banking hours for customers will be

  • 08:00 a.m. to 01:45 p.m. without break on working days

On Friday the timing will be

  • 08:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. without a break

It is also pertinent to mention here that the government and most of the private educational institutions will remain closed during the Holy month of Ramadan.

We must also remind our readers that under Ehtram-e-Ramazan (Amendment) Bill, 2017 those individuals who eat or smoke openly during the Holy month of Ramazan will face 3-month imprisonment along with Rs 500 fine. The TV channels or cinema houses that do not comply with this law will be given a fine of RS 500,000 or more. So in short, during Ramadan, you are not allowed to eat or smoke openly during the fasting hours.
