Bangladesh Cricket Team Escapes NZ Mosque Shooting

At the Christchurch Mosque, New Zealand a shooting incident took place. The Bangladesh cricketers visited the mosque where the shooting took place but they escaped the attack.

The BlackCaps tweeted, “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families and friends of those affected by the shocking situation in Christchurch. A joint decision between NZC and the @BCBtigers has been made to cancel the Hagley Oval Test. Again both teams and support staff groups are safe.”

The Bangladesh Cricket authorities also confirmed that all the team members have escaped unhurt.

Bangladesh Cricket tweeted, “All members of the Bangladesh Cricket Team in Christchurch, New Zealand are safely back in the hotel following the incident of shooting in the city. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is in constant contact with the players and team management.”

According to the police, gunmen opened fire in central Christchurch two mosques. Multiple people were killed while a complete lockdown was placed in the city schools and Christchurch hospital. As per the police one person was arrested but right now they are not sure who else was involved in this incident.

Country’s police commissioner, Mike Bush said, “This is an evolving incident and we are working to confirm the facts, however we can confirm there have been a number of fatalities.”
