Babar Azam will be the next Younis Khan, says former Test Cricketer

Younis Khan has admired the top order batsman Babar Azam and said the player has the potential to replace him in the test squad.

While giving an interview Younis Khan confidently named “Babar Azam” as to become the next test cricket legend. Younis said, “I think Babar Azam will be the next Younis Khan, I think he has the potential and he is an extremely stylish player.”

He has also thrown some suggestions to a young player and said, Babar Azam should pay more attention to his fitness, if he is fit, he would be able to deliver more targeted results and perform well for Pakistan team.

Younis Khan has left Pakistan cricket team 12 months ago, Pakistan’s test cricket team has been searching for the players like Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq since then, the country has lost Test Series against Sri Lanka since the two iconic players departed.

The next upcoming two-match series against England would be the real game to play in test cricket after a long time. Babar Azam who scored 548 runs in 12 Test matches is the new hope for Pakistan’s batting line, he could be proved wall of defense for Pakistan.

Younis Khan said there are quite a few emerging players in Pakistan cricket team and they will take the team forward, though they struggle to cope with the pressure, it will be alight, they will handle it—he added.

Babar is a player who performs in all cricket formats whether it is a one-day, Twenty20 or test, he performs everywhere. So I think they will handle the pressure and changing conditions, I think Pakistan is in a good shape now as far as test team is concerned, it will be a good series to watch, he added.

When asked who he expects to standout in the tests against England Younis said, “I think Azhar Ali is in good touch, he also has prior experience playing in these conditions, secondly Asad Shafiq needs some backup, and Sarfaraz could lead the team better to handle the pressure.
