There are many movies are set to be released in 2018. Some movies have been released and sending people straight out of their houses to the cinemas. Avengers: Infinity War has been released last week and has a number of shows allotted since the release.
The people of Pakistan have had a number of movies to choose from, including Cake, in which Sanam Saeed and Aamina Sheikh played a role, Sohai Ali Obro’s Motorcycle Girl and Rampage by Dwayne Jonhson (The Rock).
While talking with media, general manager of Footprint Entertainment, which is the local distributor of both movies Cake and Motorcycle Girl, Saad Baig said that Cake was released on March 30 and till Sunday the movie had collected a total of Rs47 million on the local box office.
The movie, Motorcycle Girl was released on April 20 and has earned Rs13 million so far. Cake has performed well enough due to strong word of mouth and the movie Motorcycle Girl is riding slowly behind it, due to lack of promotions. Saad Baig predicted that Cake should touch Rs50 million soon.
On the other hand, the local distributor of Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, Eveready Pictures has refused to share the box office collections of the film. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and international distributors of the film, Disney wishes to make an announcement of the collections at their end, if they deem fit.
However, it would be not wrong to say that the collections of the movie have exceeded expectations. Kamran Yar Khan, Nueplex director media and marketing expected Avengers: Infinity War to collect around Rs70 to Rs80 million but according to some unofficial reports, the movie has already touched Rs100 million by Tuesday.
