An Ice-cream producing factory has been sealed in Quetta by the Balochistan Food Authority as they were selling fake ice cream to the public.
The spokesperson from the BFA said that safety teams sealed all the factories of the famous brands which were producing fake and unhealthy ice cream.
The shutdown of the factories was decided after a raid in Kharotabad.
Samples have been taken from the labeled ice creams of many brands and also of the ingredients which are used to produce the ice cream. All the samples have been sent to the lab for testing.
The authorities are well equipped and ready to restrain the production and the sale of such substandard, fake and unhealthy food items said Ibrahim Baloch the Director-General of the Balochistan Food Authority.
He further added that people are playing with the public’s health in order to earn a few more pennies and this cannot be allowed. The Director-General said that the survey teams also went out to examine some of the milk shops located near Burwari Road as the authorities were receiving a lot of complaints.
The survey teams took samples of the milk from at least ten shops that are sent to the lab for testing.
