The authorities have issued a show-cause notice to a pilot of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for not following the rules and regulations given by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
According to the details, the show cause notice was issued to the pilot for not taking proper rest before a long flight. “Captain Waqar Hassan didn’t take a 24-hour rest before embarking on a long route flight,” the spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said.
As per the details, the pilot of the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) had reached Islamabad from Karachi through a flight C-130 and had also made a stop in Balochistan’s capital Quetta. According to the details shared by the CAA, he has just rested for nine hours and 54 minutes after which he operated flight PK-781 from Islamabad to Canada.
It is pertinent to mention here that due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, the authorities had made it necessary for all the members of the flight crew to strictly take rests, especially before the long international flights.
As per the details, Waqar Hassan has been grounded and has been ordered to contact the director of flight standards.
