It has been reported that a gang within the Pakistan International Airlines has been busted by the security and vigilance team of the national airline, selling low price tickets through forgery to travelers, causing losses of Rs6.2 million.
According to the spokesperson of the national flag carrier, a vigilance team of the PIA carried out a raid at the sales office of the Pakistan International Airlines in Sialkot and found that the tickets of the airline on low prices were provided to the travelers for special flights.
The details further said that the vigilance team of PIA has cancelled all the booked tickets as the airline announced to take strict action against anyone found involved in this act.
The authorities have launched an investigation against the district manager of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in Sialkot.
While sharing the details, the spokesperson of the national flag carrier said that PIA increased the fares of its tickets for the special flights during the coronavirus pandemic and had cancelled all the tickets booked before the lockdown amid the fear of coronavirus spread.
As per the details, the employees of the national airline received bribes from the travelers to provide them the tickets of the special flights on old rates, set before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The tickets were provided to the passengers traveling from Sialkot to Milan, Barcelona, and other foreign destinations.
