Australian inventors were hailed by the Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood for inserting capital into various sectors of Pakistan.
In a meeting with Fortescue Metals Group Limited delegation, headed by the Group Chairman Andrew Forrest, Dawood he said that the Fortescue Group approach is unique. It would result in knowledge and technology transfer in Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan’s workforce is proficient in learning and adopting new technologies. The investment would help in improving the labor market.
The adviser emphasized that the Board of Investment (BOI) would be the center point for the group. Adding that it would actively resolve any problems that may come during various stages of implementation of its plans.
He complimented the group’s approach for providing employment opportunities to the local communities. The Fortescue Group, in a meeting, gave a presentation on its proposed plans to invest in the country. It unveiled that Pakistan is one of the shortlisted countries which is being explored actively for investments.
The support and eagerness of the Pakistan govt was acknowledged by Forrest. He said that the investment would focus on the green industry, from hydroelectric power generation, industrial development in associated land which would be owned and controlled by the group with the aid of local partners.
