Australian Attorney-General Senator Brandis recently said:

I will raise the need to address ongoing challenges posed by terrorists and criminals using encryption

These discussions will focus on the need to cooperate with service providers to ensure reasonable assistance is provided to law enforcement and security agencies

Unfortunately, social networking giants like Facebook and Apple, who owns encrypted messaging service have been uncooperative with the governments in providing data which might lead to the safety of the people by decoding the encrypted messages sent by terrorist agencies.

Encrypted messages might help reduce terrorism across the globe. And Australia is darn ready to meet its fellow partners in Canada at the Five Eyes meeting next week.
