A news has been circulating claiming that Atlas Honda has shut down assembly plants in both the cities of Karachi and Sheikhupura. It was claimed that Honda due to low bike sales has suspended bike production in the country.
Well, the news is false as per Atlas Honda official. According to Marketing Manager of Atlas Honda to Mr. Hassan Matloob, “There’s no authenticity in this news that we have suspended bikes production in any of the two cities; Karachi and Sheikhupura.”
An auto blog site claimed that Atlas Honda is shutting down its plants in Pakistan as the dealers have not been able to maintain a smooth level of bike sales in the market. Due to this reason for the past two days, the manufacturing plant has closed down and the employees are on leave. However, an official of Atlas Honda has denied this news and said that the company has not shut down any assembly plants.
It is pertinent to mention here that PAMA released stats of bike sales in the last three months according to which sales of Honda bikes have gone down from 115,161 bike units sold in April 2018 to 105,283 bikes sold in May 2018 to just 91,507 units sold in June 2018.

Atlas Honda bikes are quite popular in Pakistan. Even though the sales of the bikes have gone down, their popularity is constant. We hope that there is a boost in overall sales of the bikes in Pakistan, which can further strengthen the automotive sector and the economy of the country.
