Major reshuffling in the federal cabinet was reported on Thursday and now an updated list has been issued listing the new federal ministers, ministers of state and advisers and special assistants to the prime minister. But, Asad Umar who resigned from his post of Finance Minister is still listed as holding the office of Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs, Dawn claims
Asad Umar on Twitter announced his resignation and said, As part of a cabinet reshuffle, [the] prime minister desired that I take the energy minister portfolio instead of finance. However, I have obtained his consent to not take any cabinet position.”
As of yet, it is not confirmed that whether Umar has officially submitted resignation or not. Also whether the resignation has been accepted or rejected remains a question.
The cabinet member names were listed on the notification as of 19th April 2019. Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh who was named as the adviser to the PM when political analysts and journalists are not listed in the list.
Major changes have been made by Prime Minister Imran Khan to his cabinet. Big names like Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry have been removed from their respective positions and newcomers have been given the important positions.
