The provincial Health Minister of the Punjab government said on Friday that as many as 1,921 in the province have been recovered from the novel coronavirus.
The health minister, in her statement, expressed happiness over the speedy recovery of the patients infected with the deadly virus and said that at least 144 confirmed patients of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have recovered their health in the last two days.
She said that PTI-led provincial government of Punjab is utilizing all the resources to prevent the further spread of the novel coronavirus.
The provincial health minister urged the people to fight the deadly virus by adopting the precautionary measures and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) formed by the government. She further urged people to stay at their homes and exercise social distancing.
It is pertinent to mention here that the number of the coronavirus cases reached 16,817 in the country, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre.
According to the official stats, as many as 24 deaths have been reported during the last 24 hours due to the novel coronavirus taking the number to 285. On the other hand, the number of patients who have been recovered from the virus reached 4,315 and at least 153 are still critical.
