The trend of 5G enabled phones is gaining popularity, so much so that as per local agencies operating in China, over 5 million 5G enabled phones had been traded in the country for December 2019. The agency has predicted that over 20% of the phones under $300 will support the 5G internet band by the end of 2020 and by 2021 every 5th smartphone will be 5G enabled.

Most of the phones that support 5G are available in the Chinese markets. Xiaomi M9 Pro, Huawei nova 6, Vivo iQOO Pro, and Honor V30 are some of the phones that have 5G versions, however, they are rarely purchased outside of the local mobile market due to many different reasons. One of them being that following the restrictions by the U.S. government, Huawei is not offering Google services.

Other than this there are a few models by different mobile companies that are available in 5G-enabled countries. These models include ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G, Galaxy S10 5G, Oppo Reno 5G, and others.

In the year 2020, the global smartphone market shows promise signs of expansion. It is expected that different mobile manufacturing companies altogether sell more than 150 million smartphones with 5G enabled in China alone.

Due to the launch of affordable 5G chipset Dimensity 800, it has become easier for companies to launch 5G-enabled phones. It is expected that even the phones that have prices around $200 will have 5G by the end of 2020.
