Army Chief Inaugurates National University of Technology

The National University of Technology (NUTECH) has been inaugurated by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) media wing, the army chief was briefed by the rector, Lieutenant General (retired) Khalid Asghar about the academic plans of NUTECH.

The role and hard work of the NUTECH management were lauded by COAS for successfully launching the university in just two years time. He advised the rector to main high education standards at the university.

The concept of NUTECH that is “University for Industry” was praised by General Bajwa.

The aim of the university is to create expert leaders of character for the market and skilled labor that play an effective role in the economic development of Pakistan. Furthermore, the ISPR media wing stated that COAS was appreciative about the effective creation of university-industry linkages.

NUTECH management was offered full support by the army chief for developing its future main campus on the outskirts of Rawalpindi/ Islamabad. It will accommodate 30,000-50,000 students.

FWO support was also acknowledged by COAS for developing the initial NUTECH campus within the premises Construction Technology Training Institute (CTTI).
