The presentation of the iPad Pro 2022 is imminent. According to experts, Apple should present the new tablets today. Hardware upgrades are expected primarily under the hood in the form of the M2 chip. The manufacturer will probably stick to the well-known design.
After the rumors have intensified in the last few days, Apple is likely to talk about its new iPad Pro portfolio today. The often well-informed Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman had already predicted a market launch “in the coming days” at the weekend and has now narrowed his forecast to today’s Tuesday.
Apple M2 chip: No More innovations?
However, the US manufacturer will refrain from a large event or a live stream. Instead, the new iPad Pro will be announced in an 11- and 12.9-inch version only by press release and will be available in the online shop shortly afterward. There is no information on prices and availability yet.
In the rumor mill, only the Apple M2 chip is considered set. The already oversized performance of professional tablets is thus increased again. It remains to be seen how close it will be to the MacBook portfolio. Finally, Apple also looks set to update its Pro laptops, iMacs, and Mac Mini later this year. The design of the iPad Pro 2022, on the other hand, should remain unchanged compared to its predecessors.
Away from today’s presentation, Gurman has spoken of Apple’s focus on the smart home space in the last few days. In the future, iPads could be transformed into a suitable hub with the help of a docking station. Apparently, however, these plans will not be implemented until the coming year 2023.
On the occasion of the iPad Pro 2022 launch, Apple is likely to talk about the distribution of iPadOS 16, which is factory-installed on the new models and will be available for download for older tablets by the end of October at the latest.
