According to insiders, Apple should address a press release on September 8th. The opinions of the experts differ. A new Apple Watch, the iPad Air, or the date of an iPhone 12 keynote in September could be discussed.
Apple’s schedules for the iPhone 12, iPad Air 4, and Apple Watch Series 6 are currently hotly debated in the rumor mill. Above all, there is speculation about the possible keynote date. The currently well-informed YouTuber Jon Prosser announced via Twitter that his sources had informed him about a press release that the American manufacturer should publish on September 8 at 2 p.m. GMT, Apple Insider reports. Without a live stream presentation, Apple could use this route to present its new smartwatch and announce the expansion of the tablet portfolio. The announcement of a specific keynote date in September is also conceivable.
The coronavirus is throwing up Apple’s schedule
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman and Wall Street Journal columnist Joanna Stern, however, assume that Apple will only announce the date of a keynote on Tuesday tomorrow, which should take place in September. If you trust the expert opinion, Apple should stick to a traditional September date, even if the availability of the new iPhone 12 family is not expected until October or November. The groundbreaking iPhone X was presented in the first half of September in 2017 and only shipped in early November.
There are currently four iPhone 12 models in total, with sizes between 5.4 and 6.7 inches, which could start at $649. The flagship iPhone 12 Pro (Max) is expected with OLED displays and refresh rates of 120 Hz. The new iOS 14 smartphones should also have up to 6GB of RAM and be powered by an Apple A14 chip. Forecasts continue to point to triple cameras with LiDAR sensors, stainless steel housings, and various 5G versions. Since Apple is known to not comment on rumors in advance, they should be viewed with a certain skepticism until they are officially confirmed during the keynote.
