Islamabad/Rawalpindi came into a standstill as there were strict security arrangements made to prevent Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) from holding a rally in the city against the publication of blasphemous caricatures in France, on Sunday.
According to the report, Shops and markets on Murree Road from Faizabad to Saddar, Raja Bazar, Saddar, Peshawar Road were closed. Mobile signals were also jammed.
Today the situation has worsened in the city as the traffic in Islamabad/Rawalpindi is completely jammed. Commuters going to schools, offices or traveling for different reasons are stuck in the traffic jam.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad tweeted, “Islamabad Expressway from Zero Point till Khanna Bridge will stay sealed. Everyone is requested to plz use alternate routes. Apologies for inconvenience. We are trying our best to clear the route.”
