The Lahore Development Authority has created an Android app for assisting in carrying out the surveys for the new commercialization policy. The app would be used for conducting surveys of the high-rise buildings, the data from which would be used for developing the new policy for the provincial capital—Lahore.
While conversing regarding the app usage, the LDA Director General—Amna Imran Khan said that this Android application would be helping the survey teams in conducting real-time survey of high-rise commercial buildings.
The gathered data would help in judging the actual influence of these buildings on the infrastructure of the city and thus would be giving a realistic test of issues faced by the people and city residents.
LDA has also got plans of updating their master plan of Lahore in the span of next few months. It is also planning to take feedback from the general public.
According to Amna, as the master plan is being made for the aid of people, hence taking input from them is essential.
She added that they have adopted an informal way of collecting opinions of the people and about involving them in the making of policies and plans which directly affects their lives.
