MWC 2018

Date:

Starting from Monday 26th February & ending on Friday 1st March in Barcelona.

What will companies offer?

First & foremost we expect 5g technology to be the pivotal point of the whole event. Furthermore, it is expected that many smartphone giants will launch their new flagships at the event. Samsung Galaxy S9 is expected to unveil at the event. We can expect phones from other big brands like Nokia, Xiaomi, LG, Blackberry, Sony etc.

Furthermore the much talked about Qualcomm’s chip, Snapdragon 845 might be part of many upcoming phones.

Let’s look a little in detail what smartphone brands would have to offer at MWC 2018.

Samsung:

People are eagerly waiting for Samsung’s new device to launch at MWC 2018. In order to clear any doubts, Samsung has sent invitations with a huge number emblazoned, thus it is quite clear that Samsung will launch Galaxy S9, S9+.

The features of Samsung Galaxy S9 include:

The phone will be powered by the chipset Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 while the other variant will have homegrown Exynos 9810 chipset.

We can expect new camera technology as Samsung keeps focus on its camera. Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus will be packed with Sony IMX345 Sensor which means the camera features 12MP with aperture range like in DSLRs.

Fingerprint reader will be below the rear camera

We might see an increase in battery

Other than the launch of S9, Samsung might introduce a new version of the DeX docking station & the company will talk about its progress relating to 5G technology.

Nokia:

Last year Nokia relaunched its most popular phone, Nokia 3310. This year Nokia 9 is the most talked about phone yet to be released. Nokia 9 is supposed to have 5.5-inch QHD display and Snapdragon 835 chipsets. Leaks also suggest the bezel-less screen and vertically arranged camera of the phone.
