All the educational institutions which include both the public and private schools, colleges, universities and madaris in the nation are to remain closed until 31st May 2020.
Shafqat Mehmood, the federal minister for Education, Professional Training and National Heritage informed on Twitter.
He further said that the schools to remain closed order was issued by the National Coordination Committee (NCC) on the suggestion of the Interprovincial Education Ministers’ meeting that was held on Thursday.
After the proposition of the ministers, the NCC directed the closure of all the educational institutions in the nation until the 31st of May. He further stated that these holidays would be taken as the summer vacations and if by the grace of Allah Almighty the coronavirus problem subsides, the educational institutions would be reopening in the month of June.
But the educational authorities would keep on engaging with the students either through the TV channel or online. The federal education ministry would be introducing a TV channel in the month of April having lessons for the school students.
The minister also said that many students have complained against the quality of the online courses being managed by the universities. He said that the Higher Education Commission has taken notice of this and is planning on improving the quality of online teaching.
